Citibank CD & Savings Rates

Citibank, one of the mighty banks that almost went bankrupt during the financial crisis, needs your deposits! Do your part for the American economy and keep your money in Citi’s coffers. Don’t worry – Citibank is “too big to fail.” Seriously though if you’re still worried, just make sure to keep your deposits under the FDIC insured $250,000.

Citibank CDs come in a variety of different terms:

  • 3 month CD – 0.50%
  • 4 month CD – 0.75%
  • 5-7 month CD – 1.01%
  • 8 month CD – 1.20%
  • 9 month CD – 1.15%
  • 10 month CD – 1.01%
  • 12 month CD – 1.50%
  • 13 month CD – 1.01%
  • 18 month CD – 2.25% – probably the best deal here
  • 2 year CD – 1.75%
  • 30 month CD – 1.25%
  • 3 year CD – 1.25%
  • 4 year CD – 1.75%
  • 5 year CD – 3.00%

Minimum deposits on CDs is $500; interest is paid monthly. FDIC insured up to $250,000. Traditional IRA and Roth IRA CDs are also available.

On the savings end, Citibank offers an Ultimate Savings Account with 1.40% and a Ultimate Money Account with a yield of 1.40% as well. $100 minimum deposit to open both accounts.

Among Citi’s other products include a variety of different checking accounts, a health savings account, and small business banking.

Citibank does have their ThankYou rewards network, and you can use these products to help you earn rewards, so this is one incentive for banking with Citi.
