Editor’s Choice: American Express Costco Card
American Express and Costco have partnered to bring you the AMEX Costco True Earnings Card. This card has a tiered cashback system, with 3% cashback on gasoline purchases (up to 3,000 annually), 2% cashback on travel and restaurants, and 1% rebate on all other purchases.
This card does give you the best % cashback on gasoline purchases, but only up to 3,000 a year. This works out to 250 per month, which at today’s gas prices is about 4 tanks of gas. This should be fine for most people who are just doing everyday driving rather than commuting. After 3,000 you get 1% cashback. Doing the math, the break even point is $6,000 – if you spend less than $6000 on gas annually, it makes sense to use the Costco card; if you spend more than 6000, it makes sense to use the American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card featured below. However, this card requires a Costco membership which is $50 a year. If you don’t go to Costco, it makes more sense to go with the Blue Cash Everyday Card below.
Rather than make you go through a complicated process to get your cash back, TrueEarnings issues a cash rebate coupon each year. You simply take this rebate coupon to your local Costco, where you’ll be able to choose between redeeming the coupon for cash or apply it to a Costco purchase.
There is no annual fee for this card, but you must be a member at Costco which is $50 per year. If you aren’t a Costco member you can sign up for the card during the application process.
Unlike many other credit cards with cash rewards, this card comes equipped with notable American Express benefits, such as extended warranty on purchases, no liability for fraudulent transactions/charges, auto rental insurance, and up to $100,000 in travel accident insurance. If you are a frequent visitor of Costco, apply for this card today!

Gas Cashback Rebate Credit Cards
Gas credit cards are a great way to save money and help offset the dent that ever rising gas prices make in your budget. Gas cards give you a rebate on your gas purchases, generally ranging from 2% to 5% cash back in special cases.
If you like to shop around for the lowest gas prices, consider a gas credit card offer from a general credit card company. These cards typically offer a 5% rebate at any gas station and 1% back on other purchases. This more versatile type of gas card may also appeal to you if you don’t want to have a lot of different credit cards.
Gas credit card rebates are usually issued at the end of each billing cycle, sometimes in the form of a credit to your account, other times as a gift card to use for purchases at any store, for gasoline or otherwise. Some companies require cardholders to request their rebates, which can expire if not requested, and some have limitations on the amount of rebates you can earn in a year. Be sure to know a card’s terms and conditions before you apply. It’s worth taking the time to compare credit cards to find the card that is best for you.
Most gas credit cards do not charge annual fees. However, if you carry a balance, you may prefer to carry it on a low interest credit card, as gas cards tend to have higher-than-average interest rates. Still, with prices at the pump remaining high, a gas rebate credit card is an attractive option for many consumers.
