Dupaco Community Credit Union has a new savings account called the High-Yield Home-Grown Savings. It has a pretty high savings rate, but only if you have more than $50,000 to save. Here are the rates listed as of 6/16/2009:

3.40% APY - $200K+

3.14% APY – $150K-$200K

2.89% APY – $100K-$150K

2.58% APY – $50K-$100K

0.50% APY – balances under $50K

Minimum opening balance is $50K with at least $15K of that being new money. It’s available for both personal and business accounts, which is nice if you’re looking for a good place to store some cash for your business. The withdrawal limit is 6 per month, but funds must be withdrawn in amounts of $250 or more. If you want to withdraw something less than $250, you must pay a service fee.

The credit union also has two pretty high CD rate specials: 2.30% APY 11-month CD and a 2.67% APY 27-month CD.

Membership is open to those who live or work in one of several counties in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. Membership requires a minimum balance of $25 in the share savings account.

Branches are located in the Iowa cities of Dubuque, Asbury, Dyersville, Cedar Rapids, Manchester, in Galena, Illinois and in Platteville, Wisconsin.

The credit union is fully NCUA insured.
